This has been a GREAT week of training thus far. I know it's getting hot in general, so make sure you drink plenty of water.

Kids are looking great, remember BJJ Testing July 9th. I will be sending out approvals to those approved to test this next week.

Adults are looking excellent all around. We have a lot of things going on with this new schedule and I'm glad to see everyone taking advantage of it. Paulo taught some nice sweeps tonight, and we did a lot of grappling. Kickboxers are having a lot of fun. I'm glad to see a lot of you guys trying out other classes as well.

We've had a few guests in this week, thanks for stopping by.

Here's some dates for you:

NO CLASS ON JULY 4TH. It's a CELEBRATION!

JULY 11TH TEAM LDMA AND ALL OF OUR AFFILATES WILL MEET IN SHERWOOD FOR A TRAINING SESSION!

If you haven't already, check out the pics below from the Seminar.

What an excellent seminar today! We had about 20 students for today's seminar at Conway Mixed Martial Arts. For the guys that missed, you missed some great Gi and No-Gi stuff. During the Gi we looked at several ways to take advantage of the lapel to add another layer to your game, and the No-Gi consisted of some of the slickest half-guard work. Joel has a great group of guys there in Conway, and I see big things in the future for Conway Mixed Martial Arts. I also want to congratulate Joel on receiving 4 tips on his blue belt. Joel has many years experience on the mats, and he's a leader and the go to guy there if you're in the Conway area. He's also a great benefit to his students, whom I also want to congratulate on the tips they received. Good Work Guys, and Great Training! I was very impressed with the group at Conway Mixed Martial Arts.

I would also like to say a special Thanks to Mr. Blackwood for treating us all to lunch. I highly recommend Blackwood's Gyros & Grill. Nothing is better between rounds than a hot grilled lamb, and it took the seminar to a whole new level when I heard we were eating there. I fully plan on returning, I'd say it's even worth the drive from Benton. Please make sure you go there if you are in the area!

As if the weekend wasn't great enough already, LDMA Superstar JESSIE "THE BODYROCKA" LAWRENCE won his WCL kickboxing match in Tulsa Saturday night via KO in the first round. This calls for a celebration and perhaps some more grilled lamb.

Here are some of the better pics...determined solely by my own judgement. I have plenty more that are not featured, and if you would like a CD just bring me one.

I regret that I failed to get a group photo. I ran out and forgot on the break, but I had to get to the grilled lamb before Two Biggs got there.

Our Classes were quite exciting today. The new schedule giving us more RENEGADE and BJJ is working very well for everyone it seems. Pretty soon we'll need even more space ;)

I'd like to compliment Tiger on his work with the kids today. Tiger really is a great teacher. Each time he teaches a group I am impressed with his technical precision and ability to effectively deliver instructions. He leads by example and is a great role model.

Paulo taught some great stuff tonight in BJJ.

***THIS SATURDAY, BJJ SEMINAR AT CONWAY MMA!!!!!***
We will be meeting here before 9 if you wish or in Conway at 10 sharp. Please contact me if you have any questions before then.

Today was an excellent day of training all around.

Kickboxers, be prepared to start learning more kicks!

We spent a lot of time just grappling and working drills today and everyone is looking good.

Renegade was packed as always and our focus was agility drills and we hit the sandbags hard.

There are a lot of announcements on the board if you haven't noticed.

THIS SATURDAY: BJJ SEMINAR AT CONWAY MMA

This will be a great opportunity to not only increase your knowledge, but get some valuable training in with other individuals.
If you are reading this blog and not yet training, this seminar will also be great to attend, and give you the opportunity to learn from the most knowledgeable Coach in the area. Contact REVOLUTION or ConwayMMA to reserve your spot!

We also have some VERY exciting events coming up!

Sunday, June 17, 2007

First, I hope everyone had a nice Father's Day with their families.

Next, do not forget this weekend is our seminar at CONWAY MMA. This will be an exciting Gi an No-Gi seminar with a lot of stuff being put out there for the student.... The seminar is this Saturday at 10am. We will arrange a time for those who wish to ride up together.

CONGRATS! to Justin from LDMA Sherwood for receiving his blue belt this past week. I hear LDMA also went 1-1 in their fights this weekend.

We have another new exciting addition to our staff here at Revolution: Welcome Jason. His years' of experience in several styles will make him an excellent addition to our crew here.

Saturday after class we had an extra training session with Paulo at Pinnacle, which we'll be doing a lot more of. It has always been one my regular and favorite spots to train. With that said, I am excited about our training this week. Our new schedule is exciting!

Patches are here, and I am placing another order for shorts as you may have noticed (amongst other things) on the board.

Finally, Paulo's been wanting a pic w/ a critter on his shoulder....

I think the kids class was a hit. Everyone's getting used to the new schedule. Kickboxers, tomorrow is your day. You guys had a rough time getting started on the new schedule since it started last Thurs and then we were gone. It will be up full speed for you tomorrow so get in here! I think it is working well for our Weeping Style guys too!

Now what you've all be waiting for...details on the trip and the NAGA US Nationals:

First, US Nationals Results for TEAM LDMA (as previously posted):

Justin: Gold Gi and No Gi
Ray: Gold No Gi
Jory: Silver No Gi
Tiger: Bronze No Gi
Daniel: Bronze Gi and No Gi

Now the pics:

Daniel was up first. Great job to him for getting 2 Bronze Medals in the Kids Division.

Next was Justin. He looked very impressive in his Gi and No Gi divisions taking GOLD in both....Congrats Justin for being the NAGA US NATIONALS CHAMPION Gi and No Gi.

This pic scares me to death.......

Gi....

Choke...

Choke repeat...

Pass this!

Winner!

Next was Ray "The Word" Borel, and Saturday was his day for sure. He won GOLD in the directors No-Gi. In the gi they combined his ranks blue and purple. He had some great matches and grappled well against the purple belts too. His conditioning was great and he seemed more relaxed. We're really proud of him for getting out there.

RAY BOREL, NAGA US NATIONALS CHAMPION!

2 Thumbs up from the CHAMP!

Jory got Silver in the No-Gi.

Tiger got Bronze. I feel horrible for missing most of his matches...but I did get a pic of the most important part!

Buddy got 4th in his no gi division. He did a great job and his conditioning has improved since Dec. A few more things for us to work on in his game and he'll be clinching the win next time.

Natalie and Kris also competed in their first comp:

LDMA!!!!!

Paulo meets Gracie Barra...

Natalie...

B & G...

Ahhh, but now for the best part of this trip, the part we were all waiting for....."Reeeelax" After the comp we hit Outback with some old friends in the area, then we drove up through NC to Gatlinburg. We passed Cherokee Nation on the way. I missed the pics of that. The tournament seemed to have less competitors than the others, but last longer, thus we didnt get in bed until like 5am. We woke up Saturday and went hiking in the Smokey Mountains. We hiked to the New Found Gap and Clingman's Dome, one of the highest points in the Eastern United States. I've been there before in the snow, and it's much nicer in the fall. However this time the weather was great and you could see for miles. It's rather interesting on the way up to see the change in the trees. Nothing but Fir Trees at the top, however they are dying due to some sort of fungus in the forrest. I really hope they fix that. Jamie Got one of her life dreams to go bungee jumping as well.

Our View...

Paulo and Buddy watchin' some TV.

Finally, after 2 days, Jamie gets her dream.

Here she goes...

Up she goes...

She's off!

After Jamie's Bungee Jumping, we went in to Gatlinburg TN and up to the New Found Gap. We've been there several times, but there's so much to do there we find something different each time.

Ray found a spider at the visitor center....

Spiders scare Buddy...

Jeau and Sarah.

This stream was nice...

I don't know how Jamie made it across this, but I did not condone it...lol.

Which way??? The New Found Gap.

REVOLUTION LDMA at the Top!

Now we hike to the VERY top.

The VERY TIP top.

Heading down...that hike sucked...but it was worth it!

A Cherokee Sign.

Ovearll, it was the most excellent trip to date. We did so much stuff. I feel like we should have more pics. Paulo got some good ones as well. Congrats to those who competed, all of you. Win or not, you all gain something. Congrats to Justin and Ray, Saturday was their day for sure! I have more posted on the FORUM. If anyone else has any great pics, please share them!
