Great fights this weekend in Jacksonville! We had a lot of new folks test their skills this weekend.

First up was Grant. Grant recently did a small exhibition in Hot Springs. This weekend he took on a former IKF World Champion in his first Kickboxing match. Grant came out strong and did great. Experience got to him though, as Rudy ended up winning a split decision. Nothing to feel bad about on Grant's end. We're proud of his performance and willingness to take on such a tough and experience opponent in his first fight.

Next up was Buddy. First let me just say something about Buddy. Buddy's been with REVOLUTION for quite some time. Buddy used to weigh 350 lbs. He's undergone such a huge transformation. He weighed in at 216 for this fight. Not only is Buddy in shape, but Buddy has grown and matured so much as a person, it's been a pleasure to know him. He finished his second MMA fight in the second round with a Rear Choke. Congratulations Buddy!

Next up was Brandon. Brandon's been training only a few months. He was scheduled for an exhibition but another fighters opponent didn't show. He stepped up and did a real fight. In the third round he took an illegal stomp while on the ground to an illegal area and was unable to continue. The fight went to the score cards, which had it as a draw. He did get in a lot of good work, and exhibited some good guard work while on his back. With a little time in training he'll be finishing those subs in no time.

Last up was Poe. Poe's been training awhile with REVOLUTION as well. He's competed in the local Arkansas tournaments with some success. This was his first MMA fight. He made weight quite easily and was ready to go. He wobbled his opponent with his solid right cross. He then took the fight to the ground and finished with a guillotine choke at 1:06 in the first round. Congratulations Poe!

Much to your delight, we'll have more Kickboxing equipment in soon!

Robson Moura 7x World Champion will be here March 21. Mark your calendars and be there. It's gonna be fun!

Workshop and testing this Saturday at 12:00 in Hot Springs (Fundamental Submissions and Escapes).

Keep up the good work everyone!

AT&T has finally done the job! It only took 2 months and our new space officially has internet. Let's hope I haven't spoken too soon!

A lot of things have been happening at REVOLUTION. If you get the newsletter you've probably been aware of some.
Let's see, back in January we attended William's GRAND OPENING of his academy in Cabot. Congratulations to him, and for those in the Cabot area, check him out!

Wes and Grant did exhibitions on the last Ring Rulers show in Hot Springs. Grant gave up 30 lbs and did a grappling match. Wes' opponent backed out, so Wes gave Grant some ring time for a Kickboxing Exhibition.

We've had a few seminars, including a large seminar over all of the positional curriculum for white to blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Last month we had quite a few people earn tips on their belts. This month we will cover the Submission portion on February 28. Make every effort to attend. This will be another extended seminar.

Our Advanced Kickboxing class is a hit! I hope you all continue to enjoy this class. Kids and adults can look forward to another kickboxing testing March 5 at your regular class time. Keep training hard until then. Please see us with any questions.
We sure appreciate Brandon coming in and training with the fighters as well!

This upcoming weekend we have Jacksonville's first Cage Fighting Event. Yep, Modern Ringsport is bringing cage fighting to Jacksonville. We should have quite a few fighters on the card. Please come out and support them. Most of these guys will be making their debut. Nothing helps a fighter overcome the nerves like a crowd cheering their name! Good luck to these fighters from Benton and Hot Springs. We will have MMA and Kickboxing Fights on the card.

We've also had a flood of new folks in since the holidays. Please make sure you introduce yourselves. We look forward to training with you.
The February Newsletter should be out by the end of the week!

Please say hi to the new gatekeeper to the office! In keeping with our intentions to be revolutionary, it wouldn't be right to have the traditional pit bull dog complete with a spiked collar and all other types of scariness that goes along with the stereotypical MMA culture.
